International low residency two-year graduate art program leads to a Master of Fine Arts in New Media. Students are free to pursue work in any media art-related genre and to create Their Own course of study, working Independently and with the support of faculty and self-chosen artist mentors. Three intensive residencies permit students to continue With Their professional life while participating in the program. Genres include: animation, cyber kind, Experimental Art, Film / Video, Graphic Design, Installation Art, Interactive Art, Interdisciplinary Art, Performance Art, Photography, and Sound / Music. Transart Institute Summer Academy: For three weeks of intensive new media workshop, the Summer Academy is open to the public (by portfolio). Invitations to select MFA artist talks and lectures. | |

2008-12-26 20:32:06 by jlgwriterThe MFA. If you're looking at the degree as a way to get published, then, no, it's not worth it. If you want to spend the time working with people who can help you develop your craft, then it's something to consider.
I'm halfway through my MFA at Vermont College of Fine Arts. I've been writing (and publishing) for the past 20+ years, but this past year of concentrated study has brought me to a new level in my craft--something I'm not sure I could have reached with self-study.
